Some believe that this drug is a DA reuptake inhibitor. I don't think this has been shown conclusively. However, even if it doesn't inhibit DA reuptake, the increase in glutamate (GLU) transmission Provigil produces in the thalamus very likely stimulates DA neurons downstream in the reward centers of the limbic system.
