My guess is St. John's wort is what added to her mania since I have taken ginkgo before and it only has mild mood boosting effects. In fact I only noticed the positive effects of ginkgo after I stopped it.

i didn't bring up hypomania did i? regardless, i posed the question in alternative, and was just curious if you could or brainbeard answer - what's the difference between hypomania and overstimulation? i mean, just before Parnate i took SAM-e a couple of times and felt really buzzed and talkative, yet never "out of control" to any degree. i've never been DX'd with Bipolar, fwiw.
i know SAM-e can be stimulating, but i was just wondering what warning signs to look out for that might distinguish hypomania? maybe since i've been depressed for so long i was just confusing it with happiness :/
