explanation for zoloft + 18gm inositol sweating?

Posted by mogger on July 17, 2009, at 23:04:08

Hello,
To cut a long story short I have been on 200mg of zoloft for years (helps greatly with depression and ocd) and have always sweat a lot which is typical of zoloft. It was very manageable and would be constricted to my face and chest. My doctor then added 18 grams of inositol which is a tremendous help as well for ocd and depression. I had no side effects until about 8 months into my inositol trial I began sweating like mad on my legs and arms and everywhere. Inositol has pushed me over the sweating threshold. It has been so frustrating as I can't find any literature that lists sweating as a side effect of inositol. I am sure it has something to do with the relation between my zoloft and itself. I am on terazosin for the sweating but it barely helps.

I tried going down to 175mg of zoloft but felt more depressed so went back up. I tried going down to 15grams of inositol and the sweating decreased a bit but I didn't feel as good so I went back up and have been struggling with the sweating again ever since. Can anyone perhaps explain why perhaps the addition of inositol has sent the sweating out of control? Any suggestions would help greatly as it is so frustrating. Many thanks,
mogger
