In reply to How to take flaxseed oil..., posted by Emme on August 4, 2002, at 19:20:08
Hi Emme,
Flaxseed oil is very tasty with a nutty flavor. I like it for breakfast dizzled on an toasted english muffin with cottage cheese. It's very satisfy and filling. And for a while gave me a nice feeling of "well being"At first I was a little nauseated by a whole tbs of oil at one time. But it quickly passed. And now I crave FSOil with meals (drizzled on the english muffin with cottage cheese or with fruit yogurt.) Otherwise I find myself extra hungry all day. I am not crazy about it as salad dressing. But just wipe the salad plate with bread if you want to soak up all the oil.
The ground flax seed is good too. You are supposed to put in in juice (i like it in plain yogurt), but I don't mind just eating it off the spoon. Crunchy and nutty, yum! But watch out, the ground flax is very laxative...more so than the oil for me.
Go to www.barleans.com Flaxseed oil with lignins and "Fortiflax" are the two I order. Excellent product. Must refrigerate. It's just part of my daily diet now...
Hope this helps.
