Effexor and other seratonin meds (I was on Prozac and Paxil at times) did this to me, too. I took trazodone, in a very small dose, to sleep and that worked for a while. It was very sedating, which I hate, the feeling of, but it worked. Then, with increasing depression, my pdoc decided to have me try serzone instead of the trazodone, for both the sleep and antidepressant augmentation effects. It worked ok for a while, until my effexor dose got up to 375 mg xr. Now, as you might read in other threads, I tend to wake up in the middle of the night all "squiggly", which was a word coined by someone else on this board. Have little tics and fidgety, etc. Last night I actually slept from about 12 midnight to 6:30 am. Wow. But I was drowsy at about 7:30 and went back to sleep until 11:30, which I know is a sleep hygiene no-no, but it is the weekend and that bed was calling me back.
