> oh god. here I am at 4:00 AM and I am...awake? woke up at 3:30 for no apparent reason and could not fall back asleep. I had this difficulty on paxil, I dont think I achieved REM sleep the whole time i was on paxil...maybe this is an exaggeration...but thats how it felt. I was up 3 or 4 times a night.
> has anyone had this experience with celexa? I can add some trazadone but really, I dont want to. I am also taking ativan daily for anxiety...this is minorly sedating, and have had no troulbe sleeping until now...its been abot 12 days on celexa.....send the sandman my way...please!
> jennyannHi Jennyanne. Paxil, Celexa, Zoloft, and now Prozac were all the same with me...BAD sleep. I think that's common with SSRIs, though not with everyone. I know how you feel about not wanting to add Trazodone, but it might be the only option to get the sandman to cooperate.
I take Remeron 7.5mg, very similar to low dose Traz. Other considerations would be switching to a TCA, or adding a small amount of a TCA at dinner. I think that might work better for your sleep and your depression than Traz would. I could be wrong, but I don't think your sleep will improve without a sedating adjunct. I hope I'm wrong. But often the sandman needs a little coaxing...especially with SSRIs. That's my experience anyway.
