My therapist said that it seems like the little girl part of me wants to have someone to comfort her, especially around bedtime as that's the time that I tend to feel most alone and upset. What are some ways I could try to soothe her a little bit? Visualization tends to make me cry because I usually end up wanting what I imagine so badly I just get sad. But I'm open to suggestions. Or does anyone have a bed with a really fluffy down comforter I could crawl into for the weekend? (And the temperature would be perfect of course, so I wouldn't get hot).

Maybe read her a story? Look at some nice pictures (nature)is very soothing.
Put on some soft music, radio beside her bed.

I babble till I sleepy.
Sometimes I take benedryl, it knocks me out.
Sometimes I journal.
Sometimes I visualize. I usu. visualize worst case scenarios and happy endings to them. Scenarios where I am tough, where I am strong. Or scenarios where I mebbe lose control but my T saves me. Happy endings.
Yeah, nights are bad.
So are weekends.
Sigh.
But it does ease up some.
Its eased up some for me.
But still gets bad sometimes...
But generally awhole lot better.
Take care,
Muffled

Falls taught me to color and I find it really soothing. Buy nice crayons and a fun coloring book. Or draw on nice paper.
I listen to music. I pray too. And of course I journal. But when I'm really trying to calm myself down, I get into bed, put on the nightlight and deep breathe. I don't visualize, I just focus on my breath and pretty soon I can fall asleep.
I read a study tonight that found that if you focus on 5 things you are grateful for before you fall asleep each night, you will sleep better and easier than counting sheep. Isn't that interesting? So we should make it a bedtime ritual to think about our day and be thankful for 5 different things -- even if those things are just that we made it through the day and we are thankful it is over.
Hang in there.

Hi sunnydays,
When my T and I were working on my inner child I bought a fairy wand and a stuffed animal. The fairy wand to make the bad feelings disappear and the stuffed animal to have something to hold tight.
