Im not used to take Nardil 60mg . My does for most of my years have been 45mg. I want to go to the higher dose 90 mg.
I have been 1 day in 60 mg. Last time I was in this dose I suffered insomnia , I expect the Xanax can help this time.
Im planning to reach the 90 mg. What do you think of this
60mg > 3 days
75mg > 3 days , then reach the 90mghow much time do you think I could received the full benefit at 90mg , 4 weeks?
(I have an emergency plan if Nardil does not work)
Im doing this because mainly because I have been promoted in my job but to a very different place .I used to be in front of a PC ,talking to nobody only by emails. Now Im gonna be giving orders to many people and that is something impossible for a shy insecure person and most that is afraid of people. Can you imaging?
This week was awful . It seems Im not gonna make it but I tremendously need this jobI appreciate all your suggestions group

When working with Nardil, the goal, of course, is to find the minimum effective dosage so as to reduce the load of side effects. I know you want to feel well as quickly as possible. However, it takes 3 weeks to evaluate the effect that a dosage adjustment will produce. I would say to stay at 60mg for 2 weeks and then move up to 75mg for three weeks. If you don't respond to 75mg, at least you will have allowed the body time to adjust and tolerate the drug.
Remember, Nardil inhibits its own metabolism. As an example, to move up the dosage by 50% might increase the level of Nardil and MAO inhibition by 100%. The higher you go, the more the acceleration of this process. You really need to respect this aspect of Nardil pharmacology.

Thank you for your valuable advice Scott.
I forgot to mention that I already tried in the past doses of 60 and 75mg with no success
The depression is well controlled at 45mg . My only and big problem wich has been with me for years is this horrible fear to people. This is what Im trying to heal desperately
Thats is why I want to go ASAP to 90.
I will try to follow your advice and be calm when increasing the dose.I really appreciate your help Scott

Thanks Phillipa , but to be honest Im not happy with this. I prefer to work in front of a PC
than to interact with people. I was kind of forced to accept this promotion ( long history )Im always trying to find places where I can be alone and I avoid all contact to people.
I know I have the capacity to undestand and improve the things in this new area
But ,the contact with people , wich is a key in this place is whats making me feel unuseful
Last 2 weeks has been so bad for me
Im very desperate.

When my social anxiety was at its worst, I was counseled to do this very thing and work with the public. "I love people, I'm just scared of them." was how I explained myself. So, I took a job as a bank teller, then as a fitness instructor. My depression really wasn't any better, and I was still anxious in recreational social gatherings, but people themselves no longer frightened me. I discovered that a great deal of my anxiety in socialization actually came from being depressed, in that I wasn't interacting with my environment. I still had a tendency to stare into space. I was basically mute. I didn't socialize because I had nothing to say. It was a very uncomfortable feeling. I felt inhibited and passive. No interest, no motivation, no energy. No healthy person would push (punish) themselves to go to a social gathering if they suddenly felt this way.
You might develop an improved level of comfort once you become acclimated to the job and exposed to people. That is my hope for you, anyway. When I first took my job as a car salesman, I wanted to run away the very first day. By the time a year had passed, I became very comfortable to walk up to strangers and begin conversations because I had become comfortable in that environment and had spoken to so many people. It became routine. Still, I had problems in recreational social gatherings. Somehow, I just never felt that I fit in. Of course, the other people felt that I did. They just thought I was a quiet person. I was rarely teased for having nothing to say. You would be surprised at how others see you so differently than you see yourself - in a good way.

Tepi good advise. Love Phillipa ps I love riding my bike and talking to who ever or in stores. Just don't like close friendships.
