> Recently I told my therapist that I have been feeling extremely cold for no reason at all. It will be 74 degrees in my house and it feels like 64 to me, generally every evening. Also sometimes I get really hot in the morning after I eat breakfast and get nightsweats if I eat after 5:00pm.

Some links on Cortisol

This is a subject close to my heart, so I've done some searching. About.com has a few pages with general information about cortisol, so it's worth checking that out, but here are a few more specific links on the topic:

From Psychiatric Times, an article on the role of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis in mood disorders -- it's moderately technical, and really only describes research rather than solutions, but it's still got some good information if you're interested:

A graphic showing the diurnal variations in cortisol:

A lot more information than you really need, but if you scan it you may find some interesting stuff:

I hope something in these links is helpful, and do let's compare notes on anything anyone finds out that's helpful, 'K?
