I am sorry I cannot offer you any answers to your questions, as I have only ever taken zoloft. I just wanted to encourage you and comfort you that whatever you are experiencing, you are not alone and there are people willing to talk with you and to help you through it. Nobody else has ever experienced exactly what you are going through emotionally and mentally because every person is an individual and will react in an impossible number of ways, but there are people who understand and would like to help you through your pain. Do not give up hope, you are a person of immense strength and courage to have travelled this far.
Wishing you all the best,
Rach

Whoever told you that Celexa can't make you tired is retarded. Celexa can have sedating properties although it tends not to be as sedating as Paxil. Most of the side effects you are experiencing will disipate withing a few weeks. If after two weeks, you are still very tired, I would switch meds. If you can't tolerate the Celexa then you will not be able to increase the dosage and you will not get the full effects of the drug.
If Paxil helped, then it is very likely that Celexa will do the same because the two drugs are in the same class of antidepressants. If the Paxil did not help, then a switch to another class of ADs would be the best choice.
Once you have reached a theraputic dosage you should begin to feel better within three weeks. It may take up to six weeks to get the full effects. Most of all, be patient. Good luck!

You need more than a couple days before judging whether or not it helps your tiredness. I've heard that some people have a really hard time getting off Paxil, and maybe that is what is happening to you. Maybe you could call your doc and ask about tapering off Paxil more slowly? A lot of people do really well on Celexa, so give it a chance. Good luck.

What you are feeling could be Celexa side effects that may or may not go away; could be withdrawals from Paxil, which should go away in 1 to 3 weeks; or could be both. These transition periods are confusing sometimes and about the best I've ever been able to do is just hang on, survive the day, and be patient one day at a time for a couple weeks. The key point is 'one day at a time'. Just focus on surviving while the storm passes. I wish there was another way, but I'm not aware of any.
Will Celexa really help you? Pull a coin out of your pocket and flip it, heads or tails. There's no way to predict. Only personal trial and comparison can give us clues as to what works and what doesn't, and to what brain chemistry is at fault. Again, I wish there was a better way. I'm not aware of any. Only a personal trial will tell.
Let us know how it goes. :-)
