harry b., how art thee?

Just wondering. You've been a bit quiet lately.

Hi Noa- Thanks for asking. I've been out of town
a few days and am just now catching up on the
chatter on the board.

You asked, so I'll tell ya. I am a worthless piece
of camel dung, (can I go back to bed now)? Seriously,
I'm hanging on but I spend way too much time in
bed. I have no motivation at all. I managed to pay
some utility bills and my mortgage last week only
because of the disconnect notices I received. (if
a pink envelope arrives, open it)

My few days away were spent at a flying contest.
I did not fly, but volunteered. I saw a lot of
people I haven't seen for a while, but didn't feel
like socializing. I did not even go to the banquet.

Upping the Celexa to 40mg hasn't helped. I can take
20mg Ritalin (not SR) and go right back to bed.

My excersize program went down the tubes.

I'm barely eating, some days nothing at all except
coffee and a glass of milk. This COULD contribute to
my fatigue, lack of motivation, and moroseness. I
did not have an appetite on Celexa and the Ritalin
is probably adding to the effect.

Lots of days I've not gone out of the house. I make
it to the back porch and sit there, I read a while
and then fall prey to my jumbled self-defeating
thoughts.

I'm to go back to work in 2 weeks (I postponed it
a month). I don't know how I'm going to do it, don't
even know how I'm going to be able to get up in
the mornings.

Other than that, things are just sh*tty.

By the way, re: procrastination, I still have not
filed any of my income tax returns (waiting for
the sound of jack boots on my porch).

Bet you're sorry you asked ;)

harry b.,you've got two weeks to become unlacklustred! I wish that I knew what to tell you to do in order to be motivated to return to work, but I am a slug myself so the solution has sort of bypassed me as well. I,too, have had to up the Celexa back to 40mg.and it surely hasn't helped except to increase the tinnitus and cause me to mope around here. And,my exercise routine has also fallen by the wayside.....which reminds me,do you want ME cheering YOU on???

As for your question, sure thing.
Thanks,

No, but I am sad to hear you are down.

Try not to add insult to injury by judging yourself for feeling down, ok?

Harry... Take the Ritalin 1/2 hour BEFORE you get out of bed...then GET UP and eat two eggs. It will greatly improve your quality of life. I'm not an egg fan myself but it is fast, easy protein and makes a major improvement in my entire day. Try cheese if you just can't stand the eggs (or don't have the energy to prepare them).

BTW, I have found Adderall to be a much better stimulant, without the crashes and fatigue. It lasts about 5 1/2 hours for me, so I take dose #2 five hours after dose #1, to avoid energy drain.

I'm praying for you, man. Hope you're feeling more yourself, soon. I want to hear that you are back out on your boat...:)

Hi Harry, I'm back on Celexa again, so we are on the same meds now, Celexa and Ritalin. Effexor XR, strangely enough, never had any effect on me. I guess that's really unusual. Maybe you could go up on your Celexa. I'm sorry you're feeling so down, but I'm glad you got out of town to that flying show. Sometimes getting out is sooo hard!!!
P.S. Thanks for your advice about my pdoc. Hehe. I can't promise to take it though.

Thanks Karen, I appreciate the concern. You are
right, I've got to get protein. I like eggs but I
don't get along with my stove. It's either the
microwave or the toaster oven. So, any quick &
easy way to do eggs in either of them?

Hey Cass- I'm on 40mg Celexa, don't know if going
higher is the answer. Actually, I WANT A NEW DRUG!
but then, don't we all. Does the Ritalin work for
you? How much do you take? Is your pdoc fantasy
lover married? :)

I'm on 10 mg, 3 times a day of the Ritalin. It really gives me a needed boost. Maybe it is time for a new drug for you. Have you already tried Prozac? That worked for me for over a year before it pooped out. I found feeling more social on it, too.
You know, I don't know if my pdoc is married or not. Good question. I know he has a teenage daughter, though.

Same dose here, but not much of a boost. Never
used Prozac, wonder why? How old is your pdoc?
Even if he is married you could still be his
"Back Street Girl"

I think my pdoc is probably in his late 50s. I've always liked older men. I want him. I want him. I want him.

Harry, you can cook eggs in the microwave. Butter a small glass dish, break the eggs into it and add a little milk, some salt and pepper, and scramble them with a fork. They do not need to be thoroughly mixed, but you must be sure to break the yolks to avoid a mess. Cook them on High until they are the way you like them. You can top them with Cheese if you like. ahem...we seem to have one thing in common, but I
refuse to elaborate. Just be careful to not be hurt.
