I would say that if your depression gets worse on medication then you should call your doctor and discuss this immediately.

How depressed is more depressed if you don't mind me asking.

I got more depressed on Zoloft and I feel that instead of increasing the drug like my DR did, he should have taken me off of it. Hindsight is always 20/20 and looking back I can see how it made me worse.

I believe now that if the depression gets worse the drug is not the right one. You might have side effects (nausea, more anxiety, etc) but it shouldn't make you more depressed.

BTW, what is your dose of Paxil? When I took Paxil I got better on 10 mg, a rather low dose, rather than 40 mg, which my doctor wanted me to increase to.

Taking Paxil did not necessarily make my depression worse but after three months it had not helped. If you look back to other posts concerning Serzone acting as a catalyst for Paxil, or other individuals Paxil experiences, might help explain your lack of results. My understanding is that different bodies metabolize chemicals differently so results usually vary. Once my doc put me on Effexor XR my mood changed after the second day. Please keep trying for a solution... when you feel hopeful for the first time in a long time, it is truly a precious miracle!
