I would say that if your depression gets worse on medication then you should call your doctor and discuss this immediately.

How depressed is more depressed if you don't mind me asking.

I got more depressed on Zoloft and I feel that instead of increasing the drug like my DR did, he should have taken me off of it. Hindsight is always 20/20 and looking back I can see how it made me worse.

I believe now that if the depression gets worse the drug is not the right one. You might have side effects (nausea, more anxiety, etc) but it shouldn't make you more depressed.

BTW, what is your dose of Paxil? When I took Paxil I got better on 10 mg, a rather low dose, rather than 40 mg, which my doctor wanted me to increase to.
