This is my first post on here! I had been having a hard time figuring out how to register. Anyway, I have OCD/anxiety and had been taking anafranil for years. The past year I was down to 25mg( the lowest dose) and figured it wouldn't be that hard to get off. Boy was I wrong total hell( crying spells, depression, de-realization, feeling sick and many more) after going to the ER thinking i was going crazy a great DR. helped me and put me on ativan 1mg 2x a day. it is now 25 days off the anafranil and while I'm not sure that withdrawal is over yet, I had tried to stop the ativan cold-turkey thinking 3.5 weeks wouldn't be enough for problems but then it seemed to make it much worse. So now after almost a month of cold turkey hell from anafranil do I have to start a long withdrawal process for ativan with such a short time taking it???!! they say it last 8 hours and i def. feel withdrawal symptoms coming on around the last hour. Am I going to require a slow taper for the ativan? Also I saw many people seem to recommend valium for it's long half life so i don't have to feel like i am withdrawing 3 times a day. Please someone give me advice I am soo tired of feeling crappy and need help/motivation.
