> Thanks for the info. Its good to know people can come off remeron. I have cold turkeyed it two years ago with no side effects for 9 weeks. Then I foolishly thought I could take it and quit it again. The diffence I believe was I was working a very physically demanding job. That seemed to kill the anxiety and make it easy to sleep from exhaustion. I have treadmill and a gym membership but am to malaise to use either. I know exercise would help but I just cant force myself to do it. I'm in too weakened a state. As far a going back to remeron I cant see myself doing that, only as last resort. My nausea has dissipated, brain shocked have lessened. Insomnia and anxiety are the foes right now. Monday will be my last day on seroquel. I have to do family things right now and must get the sleep. When you finally tapered off did you fall into natural sleep or did you use diphenhydramine(benadryl)OTC to help you? Ohh, how long was your taper/dosage start to finish??? THanks for the info!!
Hi Meme,
I am glad your symptoms have abated. But people who cold turkey Paxil report this happens frequency only to come back with a vengeance a few months later.
Obviously, you have to do what you feel is right for you but I wish I had a nickle for everyone who cold turkeys a med who says they wished they had done it more slowly.
I still have Doxepin to taper as a sleep med. I did sleep 8 days straight just using Doxepin, fish oil capsules and this remedy, BioFeed from http://www.optimumchoices.com.
Unfortunately, due to having problems with noisy neighbors, my insomnia has returned. Even if they're not noisy, the anticipatory anxiety is affecting my ability to fall asleep which wasn't even an issue when I had the previous bout of insomnia. Then I just had problems with waking up too early.
I believe it took me about 13 months to taper Remeron. I started at 22.5mg.
A few times, I accidentally went too fast but I mostly did it very slowly.
Good luck
