Stopping Effexor suddenly and changing to Prozac

My doctor told me that since I was on a low dose of Effexor (75 mg), that I could just stop taking it and start taking the Prozac and I shouldn't have any trouble. I'm not sure that he is right. I feel blah, and I've been getting mild zaps. Nothing really horrible, but I feel yucky. Would it be alright to maybe take 37.5 mg of the Effexor with the 10 mg of Prozac until I transition to 20 mg of Prozac in a few days? I know, I know, I should talk to my doctor, but this is the same doc that said that it would be okay to just stop, so I wanted advice from some people that have actually switched from Effexor to something else. Thanks!
