So far I am mentally prepared for empty nest syndrome, but I don't think that my wife is.
Ana is moving to big city in another province, but she will be living with 3 other students in residence. The subway station is just outside of her apartment and stops at the school.
One of the girls that she will be living with is from her class. We, my family & classmate are flying out to have a tour of the school and living quarters in 2 weeks.
Starbucks is also transferring her to a store out there to work part-time, so she will be kept busy.
Ana is also living approximately 2 km from her "gunkles", that is "gay uncles", so they will keep an eye on her. My brother-in-law is a window designer in the city.
Ana is not a partier, so I do not have worries there. The crowd she hangs around with smokes a little weed, but drinks soft drinks. We have had a couple cast parties in our house. They are a little noisy, but all are geeks (in a good way).
Many of the girls that she hangs out with I have known since they were in kindergarten, and most were in Girl Guides with Ana. My wife was a leader for many years and was District Commisioner for 5 years; she also was honoured with a lifetime membership in Girl Guides. Ana earned her Canada Cord in Girl Guides, and was a Junior Leader for 4 years.
Ana will only be a phone call away, so I am not too worried about her.
