It's a good thing I don't use ice, or my husband would be right with you.
You should see the running battles we got into inadvertantly over toilet paper before we got the toilet paper canister in the master bath. Not that I mind changing toilet paper rolls, but once I leave the bathroom, I quite forget. So we'd go days and days using the kleenex, etc.
Now keeping toilet paper *in* the master bath, there's no trouble.
I'm not sure there's a corollary for your problem, because it's not like you can keep water in the freezer as a reminder. :)
Oooh, how about our other solution. My husband stabs the peanut butter instead of taking it out in smooth strokes, leaving the peanut butter so unappealing that I can't eat it. And he leaves the bread open while he's fixing his sandwich and eating it, making the bread dry.
Fortunately, my diabetes now requires that I use a different brand of bread than he prefers, and I have a hidden peanut butter stash.
Perhaps you could keep your own tray of ice cubes, and they could be cubeless until they learn to refill.
