New York Dolls?

Anybody other than me remember them? I'm going to totally date myself here, but who cares. I just saw a club ad in the newspaper. The band, the New York Dolls, has reformed, and is playing Toronto tonight. Two original members are still alive.
This band was the proto-punk, the one that made a whole new era of rock possible. I saw them in 1973, at Massey Hall in Toronto. They brought a bar band with them from New York to open the show. Maybe you've heard of them? They were called Kiss. Nobody would believe me when I described *that* band.
