I was raised, in fact, saturated with it. It is invalidating, irresponsible, and dangerous, in my opinion, to tell people in this forum (some of whom may be very impressionable) that "Satan" and/or "sin" is the cause of a deficiency or imbalance of chemicals in our brains. While I respect your beliefs and wish you only the best, I do not feel that this is the appropriate venue for comments of that nature.
To everyone that I may have hurt or offended with my words, I am so sorry for any insensitive things I wrote. My intention was to share my testimony of how the Lord Jesus delivered me from great darkness of 26 years. When you've experienced such a deliverence, you don't want to keep it to yourself. I will after this message, from now on, direct any messages concerning faith to the appropriate Phycho-Babble page. I humbly realize and apologize where I said some things that could have hindered someone when I spoke of Satan. Regardless of the validity. I can see how it could have been misinterpreted. Thank you for letting me know. The intent of my words were this: According to the Bible, Satan has been the root of sin and darkness, from the time of Adam and Eve. If it were not for the fall of man in the "garden of eden", we would not have to be suffering from any illnesses. This was my validation for saying what I did. I did not mean to sound judgemental about anyones condition. One of my mottos is "until you've walked a mile in their shoes, you should not judge". I was hoping for my message to reach someone that was going through the same things I went through. When I was going through my depression, I never thought to go to a doctor, or I probably would have. Meds for depression were not talked about or as popular when I was struggling. I am sure that some of these meds are a blessing and much needed. Many of you sound as though you wish you could get off the meds. Because of the anguish I sensed, I had to share my expereience in hopes it would bring deliverence to some that have never heard this wonderful news (just as it did me). And dear Wayne, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me also. I understand what you are saying. And yes, I go to the doctor for illness and injuries. I believe God has blessed us with wonderful medical doctors who have wisdom to treat us. The Lord has also healed me on many different occasions. I have to say also, that I have prayed for healing in certain areas of my life and have not received them yet. But I know that God is faithful. So I will continue to trust, and I hope you will too. The Lord loves us so much, His desire is that none be sick. I just don't have all the answers, but yes, Jesus does! The main thing is, we have hope. With sincere apologies to all I hurt or offended. My heart is grieved because of it. Jan----

> I accept you appology but I do NOT appreciate being "Preached at", you "saved" types are always trying to PUSH your stuff, whatever happened to "Freedom of Religion", I have the RIGHT TO CHOOSE, I am an adult and I don't need You constantly shoveling your personal views at me, specially since you only have "Faith" to go on, no facts to support your theories.....I believe in God but also believe he is indifferent....Now I will share with you something Dewey(from Malcolm in the Middle) said I I think it fits SO PERFECTLY.....He was in bible school being "Preached at" and he described this scenario (paraphrased of course as my memory is not perfect).....I must seem like God to those ants in that ant hill, they can pray to me not to destroy them but I can stomp them if I feel like it. We are just ants and he is way to busy doing God things to worry about some troublesome ants.

Change "troublesome" to "insignificant" and this will make more sense, although both ants and people can be troublesome. Anyway the gist(sp?) of it was that we are just as insignificant to God as the ants were to Dewey.
