Cocaine blocks the reuptake of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. I'm not sure where the brain damaging effects come in.
Ritalin blocks dopamine and to a lesser extent norepinephrine receptors. Also through a process call phosphorylization it reversed the dopamine transporter to release dopamine from the vesicles into the synapse, instead of removing dopamine from the synapse.
