The best example of a DNRI antidepressant I know of is nomifensine (Merital). It was available briefly in the 1980s, and helped a great many people. Nomifensine was withdrawn worldwide by the manufacturer (Hoechst-Roussel) when a few cases of hemolytic anemia were reported in Europe. I responded to it briefly in a way similar to the way I respond to tricyclics. Some very desperate people were forced to give up the only antidepressant that ever worked for them.
