Valproate

I see lots of people on Depakote and wondered whats the deal? My doc put me on it today. I'm to increase to 1200mg. He also said it dont do much itself for anxiety but may boost the Klonopin and phenelzine...Strange. So what is it about it that makes people take it for mental health?

Meds: Phenelzine 120mg, Amitriptyline 150mg, Clonazepam 3mg, Bupropion 300mg, Aripiprazole 5mg, Acamprosate 2g, Galantamine 8mg, Phenelzine 120mg, Valproate 1200g (?)
