I used to use DXM (dextromethorohan) which is probably the past of that w the A/D effect. Definitely helpful but with significant dosages you trip. It was a bad time in my life with drugs but I used to down bottles of robitussin (only the pure dextromethorphan kind: long acting cough). One bottle would really help get to get me to a nice sense of clarity - remove any social anxiety. I found Lamictal really blunted the effects (ie I wouldn't tech the point of tripping) but I'd still get relief from the depression/anxiety......
I'm definitely a believer in drugs that work with NMDA receptors. I don't think DXM is the answer though. You could just try small doses of OTC cough syrup to give it a try......
Sorry if this rambles typing on my phone before bed. Maybe someone else has more experience with this specific combo med.
