You are right. Luvox (fluvoxamine) has been shown to be the SSRI most likely to be effective when treating psychotic depression. It is thought that the ability of Luvox to stimulate sigma-1 receptors is what is responsible for this. No other SSRI has this property.
Luvox might help to reduce the severity of akathisia via sigma-1 receptor agonism. Interestingly, Zoloft (sertraline) is a sigma-1 receptor antagonist - more so than the other SSRIs. My guess is that this property explains why Zoloft is so apt to cause akathisia.
