In reply to Zoloft or Prozac - which has less apathy?, posted by thefly on February 1, 2014, at 14:46:09
I should clarify that I have tried all the SSRI group, including Lexapro. All of them bar Zoloft were very tiring for me, which is why Zoloft was better, and why I am looking into Prozac as well.
Wellbutrin is not available in my country, so that is not a possibility for me.
I really want to steer clear of TCA antidepressants, as I don't get on with any of the cholinergic effects at all - I have tried both Notriptyline and Amitriptyline at high and low doses before.
I am also wondering out of Zoloft and Prozac has the least affinity for acetycholine? I know all SSRI medicines have some affinity - with some more than others.
I have really bad OCD in addition to my depression, and I thought Prozac might be good because of the 5HT2C antagonism, and I am also trying to figure out, if this makes a difference in apathy, compared with the other SSRI medicines.
Many thanks
