Long acting vs short acting?

Posted by Sheilac on January 17, 2014, at 8:03:56

Currently, I'm taking the expensive long acting version of Trileptal. It's great, I take it all at night and with 20 min it knocks me out. If I had to get up in the middle of the night I could not! It knocks me out for 8-9 hours!

My doc said I could take the regular Trileptal. I'm wondering about the correct times of day to dose it.

150mg morning? 150mg noon? 300mg afternoon?

300mg morning? 300mg evening?

I might try regular version to see if there is a big difference. I just want to get the dosing times correct.

Any thoughts?
