Currently, I'm on 1200mgs/Trileptal (600 AM, then again PM), up to 300 gabapentin, and 20mgs/Abilify. I also do hardcore Orthomolecular. The diagnosis is Bipolar I w/Psychotic Features, mostly psychotic depression.
OK. So, I think I need an AD. I tried to fight it, I did, but...its that time again! I'm tired ALL the time. Part of it is environmental, yes, but its impairing my functioning. My concentration is terrible. I sleep all the time.
So...what to do? SSRI drugs help me during more agitated depressions, with a higher dose of Abilify on top (up to 35mgs). Then I have to discontinue, because I feel too tranquilized.
The last AD I took was Celexa. I was briefly on Lamictal, but then switched to Trileptal because I needed an anti-agitation med, stat. Too much Abilify, over the long haul, impairs my cognition and dampens my mood.
Ugh. What to do? I'd like an AD that will play nicely with the Abilify. I read that Wellbutrin doesn't benefit from Abilify augmentation, so I'm thinking that one's out. Waaaay back in the day, I benefited from Tofranil-PM.
I don't think Parnate is an option, but I could be wrong.
Provigil..I dunno. My doc recommended amoxapine, and..wow...that stuff is hardcore, you know? Maybe I just don't quite have that level of trust in her expertise (My own problem, I know).
Aaaaaarrrrgh!!!
Please help. I guess you could put me down for some sort of "anergic bipolar depression" with minimal psychotic features.
Thanks!
