In reply to Nardil gelatin capsules, posted by Cee on March 12, 2013, at 21:57:03
Cee,
I know that gelatin is one of the inactive ingredients in the "old" Nardil, but I don't think that putting the contents of Nardil tablets into gelatin capsules would make the medication any more effective. It's my understanding that gelatin dissolves in the stomach and that gelatin capsules would consequently not protect phenelzine from chemical degradation in the stomach any better than the film coating that's on the "new" Nardil tablets. The inactive ingredient in the "old" Nardil that I think gave that version of the medication its gastro resistant properties was pharmaceutical glaze.
Hope this helps,
