Hi galent, and welcome. Washouts are never easy. But my pdoc makes them as easy as possible. First, he lets me take as much ativan as I need (but he trusts me not to go overboard; we've worked together over a year now and he trusts me) He also lets me take immediate-release Ritalin until two days before the new drug is to begin. This is because immediate-release Ritalin has a ridiculously short half-life. And you can still take Ambien for sleep if you happen to take that. Just info to pass by your pdoc. They all have their own ideas on how to manage a washout, but benzos are always in order. Good luck!
