Hey sister!! When I decided that disability was really the thing to do, not what I wanted and I wish things were different. Anyway, when I started my insurance, high risk, PCIP (Obama's pre-existing insurance deal(getting t i r e d)Cobra figuring out the maze I realized, something is f***** up.
SSDI will not offer Medicare until 2.5 years from your disability date. BUT if I get down to my last $2000, I can get SSI(welfare)then you get Medicare immediately. If someone would care to explain what genius' in Washington thought that one up...
With PCIP, you can sign right up, oh, but you have to be uninsured for the prior 6 months. But some states administer that plan and in Texas it's called the f*** you plan.
Or I can jump into the high risk pool and pay $700 a month and get a super plan, with a $10,000 deductible and enormous co-pays.
Or my therapist has a patient that uses one of the community plans, whatever you call them. She gets to the bad side of town at 7 a.m. and he said she usually can see a doctor by 11:30 or 12:00. She brings a book.
It is an absolute nightmare. If you get really sick and have to go to the hospital and they let you in you are guaranteed sub-standard 'care' and sometimes they will come to your bedside seeing what they can collect. This is true.
I'll never vote for a Republican and if I did Romney would be last on my list. If you've heard any of what he's said about hospitals and no insurance I personally believe you would have to be out of your mind to vote for him. He has no clue.
If you fall through the cracks in this country you will learn why there are people living in the streets.
Medicaid? Hospital? They call them Medicaid Mills. Hospital gets paid by how many they treat. I stumbled onto a nurses forum a few weeks ago. They could not take it anymore watching patients get shoddy care so they could be rushed out and the hospital could fill the bed ASAP.
I know the country doesn't have an endless supply of money but these are human beings. We send billions in aid to everywhere in the world and I have no problem with that but what about us? (rant) Just how many bombs, fighter jets, aircraft carriers, drones, nuclear bombs is enough? But cut defense spending? Are we out of our minds? Who's coming? We're the ones that stir up the ****. It may look different but where do we get the true story from? I'll stop there but yes, good luck on insurance. They know what they pay for disability and they know that insurance will take half.
