There are some very scary and harmful hospitals where you can be abused by doctors/nurses and other patients. There are also some really good ones. I have experienced both. While I'd prefer not to have to go (who wants to be in ANY hospital, psych or not!), if I need to be in hospital I am ok with going to the hospital where I feel safe, I have my usual psychiatrist, and I know the staff aren't going to take out their frustration and anger on me or other patients.
