Perhaps your preoccupation with suicide is more intellectual than it is due to depressive affect. For you, it might be critical that you attend to this issue and others that may exist in your psyche through some psychotherapeutic milieu. In your case, I do not think that psychotherapy by itself will resolve major depressive disorder. Some sort of somatic treatment seems to be necessary for you. I could be wrong, of course.
