Very good question Glenda. I also had a quack PDoc who knew *nothing* about all drugs. He even had the temerity to instruct me to write a "precis" on Nardil "as an educational piece" for us both. i.e. he was so lazy and incompetent he wanted me to do his job for him. And then pay him $200 for 25 minutes of his "expert" time.
Surprisingly I stuck with this guy for 2 years. It was mainly exactly because I knew more than him about most drugs and could suggest what I liked. Therefore it is indeed a conundrum you find yourself in. I think it depends on how confident you feel in managing your own treatment and how much control you can exert over this clown. If you're nervy about Nardil (I'm not but plenty are) then you might want to shop around. Else I say stick with her.
Just my 2d,
Pete
