garnet71,
That is really interesting information. I was searching for some more material on it. Most of it is a couple of years old. I was wondering why we haven't seen more current info. Then I found a newer article http://neuroscientificallychallenged.blogspot.com/2008/05/ketamine-and-depression.html. I really don't know how reliable it is, but it may have addressed the reason concerning it being approved. Psychedelic side effects. But it goes on to say, pharmaceutical companies will be all over this type of med. So maybe we will see it soon? It just seems like research has moved so slow in this area. I wish they could develop a single vaccine to cure depression/anxiety/ocd. It is so painful to slowly go through the laundry list of meds that might work. Then to start with all the combinations of meds that might work. I just have a bad feeling that I will exhaust all of the combinations when I am 90 years old and on my deathbed. Then I will hit the right one, feel great for 30 seconds, and die.
