My anxiety Responds to chocolate, Caffeine, Narcs

Posted by KimStereo on November 19, 2008, at 23:17:48

I have found that low dose Ultram, Percocet, Chocolate, and Coffee actually helps my anxiety. These are the things we are suppose to stay away from. I've never taken anything med wise on a regular basis to up my Dopamine, but certainly these things I list would certainly do so.

Tomorrow, I'm gonna get some Tyrosine which is a Dopamine precursor and see what it does. This might explain why SSRI's and the like have done nothing for me. My anxiety doesn't appear to fit with what others describe as for me, it's just the somatic complaints that are so discomforting. I've said this before, but it's worth mentioning again that I don't worry, have fears of doom, etc. with my anxiety that is so typical of others.

The literature suggests that high levels of Dopamine can cause anxiety, but I'm hoping that my levels are just very low which can also cause this. At one time, I had a bad gambling problem, which is also suggestive of low dopamine.

Any thoughts on this ?
