That's a good question ,bobbiedobbs. I never quite was sure of the answer while I took parnate, although I just avoided beans other than green beans, particularly snow peas and fava beans.
Here's a definition from wiki:
"In much of the Anglophone world, the name broad bean is used for the large-seeded cultivars grown for human food.... The term fava bean (from the Italian fava, meaning "broad bean") is its most common name in the United States, with broad bean being the most common name in the UK."
~~What I was never 100% sure of is whether beans with large pods, other than fava beans--like lima beans and chickpeas--were included and, if so, which ones.
Fava beans are the one bean that's usually mentioned by name on lists of prohibited foods.
