it is the most cardiotoxic, and it appears to be the most, or one of the most genotoxic. more information on it's carcinogenicity and mutagenicity may be appearing. a 2002 study on the bone marrow of mice apparently indicated mutagenicity, and this is an mammalian animal model (compared to the fruit fly study, which was still possibly very notable tho, mind you) so i gather this may be a solid reason why the researchers urged further investigation of the issue.
whether it can f*** up human sperm or egg cells, i am not sure, but i am personally pretty scared by the idea. (i may elaborate on why, as it something that really preoccupies me.)
it is probably the TCA most associated with sudden death (as this, i am pretty sure, is a matter relating to cardiotoxity) and it is the most toxic TCA in overdose.
i want to post more on my experience with desipramine soon, as it was quite a notable therapeutic in my case. i just have a lot of trouble with concentration.
