> If over-stimulated children are calmed down by a stimulant, can the same work for anxiety? From what I've read it doesn't seem to work so great for anxiety, but are there any cases where it has? Any examples?
> Or maybe it's motivating positive effects can "trump" the anxiety. I tried Adderall for a short time & felt like doing things, getting out, good mood, etc.
> I also recently tried taking Xanax for a morning loneliness anxiety blahness and I seemed to have more motivation and positive outlook (vs. the mellowing it is suppose to do)I think the effects of stimulants at calming hyperactive children is misunderstood. I could be very wrong on this, but everyone i've talked to that takes stimulants for ADHD says they are indeed stimulating. I believe hyperactive children seemingly calmed from stimulants is due to a newfound ability to focus. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
