Most of them are a waste of money, at best, and many can be dangerous as well. For the most part, these days, they're some combination of mild stimulant -- such as caffeine -- and high doses of B vitamins, which can affect mood, nerves, etc. And the supplements like Hoodia? Those generally contain little, if any, of the allegedly active ingredient, which may be a dangerous thing to begin with.
There is some evidence for green tea, but that's equivocal, at best.
Your best bet is to talk to your doctor about metformin to mitigate the Zyprexa weight gain, and leave the GNC stuff on the shelf for someone who doesn't have the great advice you can get here. :-D
I'm sorry -- I know how upsetting medication related weight gain can be. I hope it gets better.
