I would venture out on a limb and say that the whole cocktail, or one or two of its ingredients, are just as much at fault for how you feel as your original condition.
Why don't they just go with proven heavy guns, such as prozac+zyprexa, nardil+lithium, stuff like that? I am surprised that with depression and bipolar there isn't even a zyprexa, risperdone, or seroquel in the mix. Those are not only trendy and popular these days, but in my own personal experience work tons better than the anticonvulsants do.
Sure, trazodone might help with sleep. One can never heal without sleep, so that is important. In the longer run bigger picture, it sure would be nice to see that entire cocktail in the trash can and be on other things that work by completely different mechanisms. I say that only because it is painfully obvious that by whatever mechanisms they work right now, they aren't the right ones your central nervous system needs. If they were, you would be feeling a whole lot better than barely holding yourself together.
