Yeah, agitation is has a restless quality to it and is closely related to anger and irritability. Anxiety is more tension and fear, it can be quite exhilarating in manageable amounts.

I sometimes think anxiety is where the tension/adrenaline is rising, which turns into agitation and irritability as it wears off. Much like with stimulants where you get tense and anxious on the way up and irritable and agitated as they're wearing off. I guess the stimulants are mimicking the effect of adrenaline?
