Trileptal side effects

On my 2nd week of increased dosage to 600mg. Am having some weird problems. Tingling and numb tongue is one of them. Yesterday and today both I've gotten real shaky and heart pounding...like I needed to eat something. I tried some juice in case blood sugar was low. No help. Tried some pretzels in case sodium was low. No help there either.
I had horrible problems on Topamax...another med that hits the temporal lobe. Has anyone had side effects like this on Trileptal? I ended up with hospital visits and doctors visits on Topamax. I don't want this to turn into the same kind of thing.
