Hi, Everyone.
This is a general reminder, which I hope includes some clarification about what is and is not allowed here. It is not meant to single anyone out, and I am opting for lenient enforcement towards those who have broken the rules lately, since it's likely they did so out of ignorance.
If you have a problem with anything posted on this board, something you feel does not belong on the Meds board, or that you feel is uncivil in some way, please do not attempt to address it here on the boards. Use the "Notify administrators" button on the bottom of each page, per site guidelines. The idea here is not to post anything which could lead others to feel accused or put down, and that includes criticism of what they've posted here. If what they have posted violates site guidelines, one of the administrators will address the issue. If a post belongs on another board, one of the administrators will redirect it.This does not mean that you can't disagree with someone else here. Disagreement, provided it is civil, is certainly allowed -- it's often what leads to some very educational threads. What's not allowed is to say that a post is inappropriate for any reason -- that is the job of the administrators.
Generalizations are also not allowed. Saying "No medications work" is not allowed. Saying, "no medication has worked for me" is allowed. Please keep this in mind. It also applies to posts citing studies showing that no medication works better than placebo. That sort of generalization is not helpful, and may lead to other posters -- including those who have responded to medications -- feeling accused, put down, and invalidated. Additionally, because many people who read this board are in a vulnerable condition, saying that medications do not work may be counterproductive for them, at best. Therefore, please limit your comments regarding drugs to your own experience and clearly identify any opinions as such.
If you are in doubt about how to express an opinion without violating the site guidelines, using "I statements" is often a good idea.
Thank you very much for your time and attention in reading this post.
