Your mileage will vary -- particularly since I seem to be pretty bizarre in some of my reactions to medications...
Adderall increased my depression -- a lot. I stayed on it for a while, because my T thought stimulants were helping me, but as soon as my pdoc saw me, she stopped it and switched me to Dexedrine. Now I take Ritalin. My own experience was that Dexedrine is nice, but Ritalin works better for me.
Again, though, that's just my experience. And I'm not even sure Ritalin is even doing anything anymore -- but I still like taking it. Even if it's now just placebo effect for me, and even though I think that's absurd of me. At first, it was like a miracle -- suddenly, monkey brain was gone! Just -- gone. Now, though, I have monkey brain again, but maybe not quite as bad.
Hope that helps, and good luck with it. For what it's worth, Strattera helped my depression when I was on it.
