My father sometimes does the thought streaming/racing when I'm around.
He will start with 'I think I might go hit a par3'. 'I think I'll get my grocery shopping done today.' 'Maybe I'll drive up through the scenic highway.' 'I'll go fishing at the river.' 'I'll clean up the house today'.
My ears start to hurt after awhile, and do fake active listening, 'yep' 'good idea'.
Then he usually sits around and drinks beer all day and watches Nascar.
I've mentioned to him about his racing thoughts. But he just thinks psychiatric theories are bull.
I think he definately has anger problems. Paranoia. Thoughts of violence when paranoid. And the drinking doesnt help. I've told him his thoughts that people are out to get him are illogical. Then he gets angered.
I only think he would be mentally healthier if he went to a psych doc. But he hates doctors. He thinks they are out to only get his money. Paranoia again.
Ugh.
