needhelp,
Maybe your husband is bipolar? I'm bipolar II, and when I was on lexapro I would have bad mood swings. Rage, to intense sadness, and then 'high on life'. I could go to rage and 'high on life' in one day. Sadness to 'high on life' in a week.
And to tell you the truth lexapro wasnt helping me with mood, alot of Bipolar people dont take ssris because it 'sets them off'. Being Bipolar for me is like PMS X 10.
There are alot of bipolar sites that really explain it in detail. They use 'fake' case stories to try to explain to someone who is living with someone who is Bipolar 'how its like', and 'maybe' if they are in fact are.
Can you reason with him to stop using alcohol? Sounds like walking on glass, but maybe urge him to see his doc over the mood swings?
Sounds like you between a rock and a tight place. I hope you can find a way to work it out with your husband, if he is suffering (and making you suffer) from mental illness.
I'm of the lexy now, and on bipolar meds. And the mood swings arent hardly there now.
> Did taking the Lexy later than usual give you mood swings? He is fine one minute and raging mad the next over something silly. Then stays mad for a couple of days and it is always my fault---completely. Even things such as my pulling weeds or walking around the yard when he is trying to nap in the house. Almost to the abusive side---not physically but mentally and yells alot.
