Cipro is a quinolone antibiotic.
Quinolones have been implicated in all kinds of adverse effects including Achilles tendon ruptures and psychiatric episodes.
I would not have believed this until I did some research, it's not just quack internet sites and trial lawyers that came up with this, the Wall St. Journal had a story about it.
There is an active quinolone effect group on Yahoo.
I certainly believe that 2 rounds of Cipro six years ago may well have led to my depression cycle.
