I think effexor is a SNRI at low doses as well. Anytime a fast titration of SSRIs takes place, you're going to have an increased risk for akathesia. If you can't handle 10mg slowly, 5 is fine. I love low-dose prozac. There is other activity in different systems besides *just* serotonin and norepi, many of which we probably don't know about for sure. The main ones are adrenergic and, I believe, histamine(?). Sh*t whatever works works.
> I am currently taking 5mg lexapro and 30 mg cymbalta. Is this basically the same as low dose effexor? Cymbalta alone makes me too nervous, and with 10 mg lexapro it seems to cancel out the good effects of cymbalta. This regimen seems ok. This make any sense? Should I go to low dose effexor? I tried it once before and my doc had me go to a high dose very fast and I could not handle it! My understanding is effexor is mostly an ssri at low doses.
