I have an appointment with my pdoc next week. I am currently taking Klonopin (and Effexor, Wellbutrin, and Buspar) for anxiety. I also have ADHD and want to return to taking Concerta. I've been off it a year now and it has really affected me at work and at home. I think, though it sounds strange, that it helped with the anxiety -- which has been much worse the past year.
Because the anxiety is much worse lately -- I now have daily episodes where my chest gets tight and I'm short of breath (what is that?), I'm wondering if increasing the Klonopin would help (currently .25 mg twice a day). However, will my doctor be reluctant to prescribe Concerta and Klonopin at the same time?
I'm almost tempted to not mention the increased anxiety and even drop the Klonopin if I have to so that I can take Concerta again. It makes such a huge difference in my organizational skills at work, especially. My house is a mess, I am behind in projects, and I really think I need the Concerta more.
Does anyone take both? It seems like one is a stimulant and one a tranquilizer, so a doctor might not prescribe them together.
